Mesa Ian
The Ian table seems to float above the projection of its own shadow. Top and shadow interact, creating dimensional relationships, like black holes or unidentified objects emerging from the void.
Ian is part of a series of furniture designed in homage to the legacy of my mother, architect Chu Ming Silveira. Through a synthetic, almost pictorial design, the series explores the relationship between light and shadow, East and West, presence and absence.
