Alan Chu is an architect and designer. He graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from FAU Mackenzie, São Paulo, in 2001.
From 2010 to 2022 he worked with architect Isay Weinfeld, in his final years leading the office's creative team. During this period he contributed to high-end projects of international relevance, such as the Santos Augusta building in São Paulo, the Jardim residential building in Chelsea, New York, and La Petite Afrique in Monte Carlo.
Between 2015 and 2019 he lived between São Paulo and Alto Paraíso de Goiás, in the Chapada dos Veadeiros, where he designed a series of houses immersed in nature and conceived and built Casa da Mangueira, his own residence and boutique hotel. In 2022 he founded his studio in Brasília.
Son of architect Chu Ming Silveira, creator of the Orelhão, the iconic Brazilian public telephone booth, Alan works across architecture, interiors and product design. His work is recognised for its creativity combined with precision, elegance and a mastery of proportion. Rather than following a single aesthetic, each project reflects, through his sensibility, the desires and needs of each client and each place.
