Apartamento 1211

A single element organises the space of this small 36 m² apartment, set on two levels: the box.
Built in treated pine with brightly coloured interiors, the boxes are arranged in an apparently random way, giving the space a young, unpretentious atmosphere. Each one takes on a different role: pantry, kitchen, living room. One of them, suspended in the air, conceals the existing mezzanine structure and holds, in its dark cylindrical interior, the metal staircase that leads between the two floors.
The apartment was the temporary home of a recently separated businessman, and its design reflects the transience of that moment: a phase of change, improvisation and reorganisation.
